LONDON Kent will perform a pre-FEED study for the Morven offshore wind project, 60 km from Aberdeen, for co-venturers bp and EnBW.

The proposed development will employ fixed-bottom wind turbines in 65-75 m of water as part of the ScotWind leasing round.

Associated investments should also support regeneration of the Port of Leith, north of Edinburgh, while also leading to the formation of an operations and maintenance base in Aberdeen.

The pre-FEED, expected to last six months, involves engineering design to assist decisions on foundations, corrosion protection concepts, and transportation and installation.

Kent will work with partners Ternan Energy to provide geotechnical services.

The same team was responsible for design of the offshore wind jacket substructures for the Beatrice wind farm offshore northeast Scotland.
